This is it

Ok guys so I am going to write a quick goodby before the water works start. So this is officially going to be the last post on this blog and although in part I am relived that this is finally over I have also realized that this roller coaster of ride is officially 100% over there is no other level I can go to and that soon enough I am going to be starting the next chapter of my life. I also want to take this post to thank you guys for creating this course, this course has honestly helped me realize something that I have grown quite passionate of it and I also want to thank my teacher for helping me reach my full potential and for always being there to give her honest opinion and offer all the advice she possibly could. So as this roller coaster of a project is coming to an end I present to you my CCR.

Crossing the finish line

Hi giys, being that this project is due on Saturday my group and I have been on full power mood. The good news is that all of our hard work is finally paying of and I amextremly excited to finially show it to you guys.
First of all the postcard, so on Tuesday my group and I met in class and we each showed one another the progress we had made individually and I showed them my postcard and they had really liked how I edited the picture and overall they liked the picture. But as I kept looking at it something was always wrong so I asked my group what they thought and they helped me fix the front by getting transparent images that said my movie was selected in the film festivals we plan to show the film in. This fixed the front and I was really proud of how it was coming along, but the back was still not how  I envisioned it and my group found it to be fine, but I knew something was off. So I decided to ask my teacher to see what suggestions she had and she told me to add a picture and when she first told me this I was a bit concerned in my first attempt I added an image but when I put text on top of it you wouldn't be able to read anything. but then she continued and told me to add the image but change the transparency so that the image is very light and you can still read the text and this looked so good. It was exactly as I imagined it. But as I kept looking at it I came up with a brilliant idea and that was to add QR code next to where I put the URL to the website so people can scan it with their phones and they would be directly lead to the donation page where people have the option to view the film and donate if they wish to.
Next social media, when we met we discussed all the social media and we decided on using Instagram, Twitter, Youtube and Facebook. We used Instagram and Twitter mainly because they are the two platforms that are most popular for our target audience and in both of these platforms we plan on posting little behind the scene pictures and updates such as where people can watch the film and the website. We choose Facebook mainly because although its not as popular with our current target audience it is still popular and also a ice way to expand our target audience to an older population and a population outside of the U.S. We also wanted to incorporate Instagram and Facebook because of their live section because this is a popular way to communicate with our audience and bring them along on the journey by broadcasting some behind the scenes and by having interviews only available through the live sections of these social media accounts so our audience can better understand and have a better relationship with the film makers and actors. Lastly, for Youtube this is where we can connect with other film makers and so a boarder audience can reach us.
Now the Website so for the website so for the website we decided to add 8 tabs. We choose this because we tried to choose the most popular tabs that short film websites had so we came up with a home page, an about page, a gallery page, a cast page, a crew page, a film page, a poster page, and a behind the scenes page. So now let me go page by page and give a brief overview about each so for the about page this page just has a cover image which is picture of our two main actors in the psychiatrist office with a clock in front of them, but it's an extreme close up of the clock so you can only see the legs of the two actors and the clock. On top of the image we wrote the title of the film, "All Bets Are Off", and the sticker where it says that our film was selected for certain film festivals. Beneath that it has a countdown to when it's the first showing of the film. Next is the about page which has a brief explanation of the film. This is part of the home page and youu just scroll down to view it and beneath it is a section where reviews are posted and lastly it has a section where you can join the mailing list to the film that everyone can keep updated with everything going on with the film. The following page has a brief description of our three actors and a picture of each of them. For the crew section again it has a brief description of everyone and a picture of each one. The following tab is where our film would be displayed and next tot he film there is going to be an option for people to donate and support the film. Next we have the gallery tab where we post pictures of the film, behind the scenes, and the cast and the crew. Next we have a section for a poster this was something extra we decided to add because when we were researching we realized a majority of short film websites have poster so we decided to make one for our film. Lastly we have a tab for behind the scenes this was something else extra that we decided to add to our website because again we noticed a majority of short film websites have. So we decided to make a video which featured some extra background of the film with some videos and images from behind the scenes and our cast and crew.
Next the video so we finished editing it last weekend but when we meet this week we went over it once again and overall we were really content with our video but one thing that we did decide to change was to lower the intensity of the yellow in the dinning room scenes mainly so you can better view the faces of our actors.
And lastly the CCR, so this part is individually but when we met up this week we discussed some of the aspects that we knew we wanted to mention and I have started creating my script for my CCR so that tomorrow all I have to do is record it.
Overall though we are just finishing adding all the last touches before we officially turn it in tomorrow. So till then.

Ok guys so I have good news, so you know how I was having Postcard Block well it think its starting to get cured because I think I am starting to get somewhere and I am so excited. Ok so yesterday my group member Sofia sent me more pictures and I just started playing round with them and with different edits and effects and then I got a picture that I really liked but again once I uploaded the postcard it wasn't't working so then I Changed it from being horizontal to being vertical and did it make a world of a difference. Anyways, so here is the picture.

So I used this effect called Oil which in a way pixelated the picture. And I choose this because I really liked the pixelated effect which high lets the fact that the movie is set in the future and how technology plays such a big part of the movie specifically through the stimulation. I also liked it because although it does have a pixel effect you can still till who they are and vaguely see the wires again reinforcing the technology aspect. Regardless I am seeing progress and I am very excited to see what's next

Creative Input

So yesterday teacher split my class into groups so we can each explain our projects and get feedback and critiques and overall comment on each other's projects. So as I was explaining our short film, I asked them for help mainly for our postcard, because I am stuck on it. I keep changing the picture and the font and what I say on the postcard but no matter what I change there always seems to be something off. So they gave me this idea for the picture of the postcard which I think could work I just hope I can find this image. But overall I think they really liked my idea and this group discussion helped me realize that my group wasn't the only that was behind but we are slowly catching up and are almost ahead of other groups. Oh and in my group member Isa's group discussion she told them the title we came up with which is ALL BETS ARE OFF, but they weren't all that found off it. So, my group and I are going to keep brainstorming to see if we can come up with something we like better. And she also told them about this behind the scenes video we are trying to create to add to the website, which will help explain the film while also showing some behind the scenes footage. Although overall all of our groups really liked our ideas and think we are on the right track, which was a nice reassurance for all of us.

Coming Along

Hi guys, so it's been a while since the last time I blogged and since then we have been hard work. Since all the filming is done we have been busy putting all the film together and editing it. But I have mainly been focused on creating the postcard. For the main picture of the focused we did have a mini photoshoot the day we recorded all the footage, but regardless to have more content to work with we are also taking some stills from all the footage we took and testing out all of these pictures to see what best works with our film. One problem we did encounter was that I originally wanted to create a postcard vertically but all the pictures and the stills from the footage we have are horizontal thus making me have to choose a vertical postcard. Although as I kept researching examples and possible ideas for the postcards often times they are horizontal, so although it wasn't my ideal lan I do believe I am following typical conventions.
Now for the image on the postcard. Originally the image I wanted was similar to one of the practice images that we took but the images from the photoshoot didn't come out exactly as that. Mainly I believe because since we were rushed for time we didn't really check the images we just took and kept going. This in the long run although it did save my group and I time, may have cost us some quality. Some other things I am having difficulty with the postcard is deciding whether or not we want to add that yellow tint to the images since it is going to be present and it is a common theme for the postcard. The reason I believe I am having difficulty with this is because I can't find the exact color we are using in the film thus I am scared it is not going to look cohesive. I also don't want to force it on to the image, I think one way which may help me around this is by only including the yellow tint in images that are in the setting of the short film which is tinted, but if we take images from the setting that is regularly colored I don't think I showed add the yellow tint and thus I was debating of wither or not to add yellow text here but again I am facing the same problem where the font isn't the same color as the tint we are using in the film, and it is harder for me to find color that matches in the front because the picture you can adjust more such as the brightness and the color making it easier for me to find an exact color.
Overall though, I believe we are going on a steady pace and hopefully we will be done by the end of this week thus leaving all of next week for us to correct little details and create our CCR (fingers crossed).

The end is near

Ok so today I realized just how close we are till we have turn in this project (AHHHH). This is not ok, and this just means that full gear is on. So today I decieded to focus primarily on the postcard. For the postcard, I though that the front should focus on our two main actors to highlight them, since they are what makes up the film. Thus in the front I think we should only include the title of the film and who the main actors are. On the back of the postcard I think the image should be more minimal since what should highlight from it is the where the film would be played, when the film would be played, some more credits, and our website too people can download the film. I also know that I do want to highlight the color yellow in the postcard, since a portion of the film is going to have this filter to symbolize both hope and betrayal. The only problem is I still advent figured out if I want a yellow filter on the images or the text because although yellow is a prominent part of our film I do not want it to be overbearing. Overall, I think this weekend has been full of progress and I am really oproud of all the work my group and I has accomplished thus far.
